The Easy T (1)

The Easy T Class is the first online sewing class from SewHere.com.

We’re excited to offer an introductory course on pattern drafting, because we know that one of the biggest obstacles in sewing your own clothes is getting the right fit. Instead of downloading a pattern, taping it together, and then cutting it apart again to try and get a perfect fit, try taking your own measurements and drafting this simple top.

I’ve been binge listening to your podcasts the last week or so, and love your mother/daughter banter🙂 I consider myself an advanced/experienced seamstress, having sewn 99.9% of my dresses since the age of 13…..I’m 40 now. (I only wear dresses, I’m a conservative Mennonite 🙂) But you have obviously sewn much more than I ever have or will, and I enjoy learning new tips and techniques from you. But while listening to this episode I had to smile, for once I know more than you, ha ha! Like I said, I’m a conservative Mennonite and have sewn many, many head coverings for myself and others. And I have never sewn or worn cotton organdy for them. To be honest, I don’t even know what the fabric is called, it’s a very stiff mesh or net, and there are varying weights and “stiffness”. However, there are some ultra-conservative branches of Mennonites that would use cotton organdy, but mostly it’s the Amish that use cotton organdy. My grandma used to be Amish (shes also the one I inherited my love of sewing from) and for most of her life she wore cotton organdy head coverings. She switched to the stiff mesh/net in her later years, having left the Amish. Anyway, I thought you might enjoy knowing you have at least one Mennonite among your listeners 😊
